I bought a inner fairing, from a 08 SG ,off Ebay. Im going to get my buddy, that owns a bodyshop, to paint it to match my bike. My father made a comment to me about the bike being silver, the fairing being silver, and the chrome. He said I should probley leave the stock fairing to have some color contrast in the bike. Now Im torn. Maybe he is right. I dont know what to do.
I have a birch white '04 EG and had my inner fairing shot vivid black with very fine sliver flake because I didn't want more white--but, I have since seen the '08 SE Ultra with the white innner fairing and it looks good; not better than what I did but vastly better than the stock black.
I'll bet your buddy can find a vivid black with nice silver flake that would provide a sharp look and contrast. Shoot, even the color-matched fairing will look sharper than the stock black IMO.

I remember you saying that before. It definitly will be differant and something no one has. Something to think about.

The flake is so fine, it doesn't photograph well. I'll see if I can shoot and enlarge in daylight. If you walked up to the bike you would think it was just vivid black--you have to be very close to see the flake.
I may have mentioned previously that I also had the painter shoot the sides and rears of the SG mirrors; but not the base because the mirror pivots on the base.
