My Road King has become part of my life. I wanted the Ultra (still do) but just kept adding crap like Pumba said above. It's just about home free. I love it. No heat problems, no fuel canister problems, no TBW issues, etc... But also no ABS, new frame, wide rear wheel, etc. So there's pros and cons. Once the bagger brace goes on like Ultra Kla$$ic suggested, I think I'm home free. It's been paid for since day one, so adden' junk doesn't sting so bad. Just sell a couple of guns, and wall laa. My Sirius subscription for the mountain passes answers the mail, and now with the tour pak, I'm a regular geezerglide fan. Dead Center makes a mean fairing, and getting in virtually brand new off the Forum Classified's sealed the deal for keeping my RK. At least for another year.
Allot of long responses which is very good...I did not take the time to read them being I have an Ultra, but going from the title of the thread my answer is...........................................
You won't be sorry,,,trust me...it is OK~I can be trusted...you won't be sorry.
you can also add lowers, have an UltraKing and can have the Road King back any time you wish. The only thing missing will be the new payment book.
Exactly
I've added the Vented Lowers, a detachable King tour pak with rear speakers, a comfortable King Pillow seat, and a detachable and "Lockable" fairing from Dead Center Cycles with AM/FM/MP3/CD/XM and gauges...and now I have the best of all worlds!!!
"You did say your bike fits perfect"...and someone else said just add the bling!
Went from 04 Road King Custom to 07 Ultra and never looked back. Kept the Custom for 14 months and finally sold it because I wasn't riding it... Rent an Ultra for a weekend and you'll know if it is for you. good luck
Ram, I see you never miss a chance to push the Dead Center Fairing. Do you get a kickback for everytime you plug DCC. Please don't take offense, it was just an observation.Oh and on the catch up trail, I just bought some vented lowers myself.
