Battery Purchase Advice/Suggestions

Well, I need a new battery and thought I'd ask for any advice you guys may have on good/bad experiences. Please also let me know where to buy whatever you suggest.

From what I have read here,the HD batterys are very good but pricey.I would avoid any inexspensive batteries from wally world or automotive stores.

I just had to buy a battery for my wifes Sportster. I think it's the same as my Ultra. Anyway, went to Walmarts, Tractor Supply, Napa, etc. Nobody had one or would /could order one except Napa and they wanted WAY too much. I finally went to the dealer and got one $100.
Yesterday I had to replace the backup battery in my alarm system and went to this place. While there I ask if they had a battery for the Harley. He said he did and it was $66. Not sure of the brand or the quality. I have bought misc batteries from them with good luck

Haven't needed one yet, but everything I've read here suggest bite the bullet and get the HD battery.

I had to get a new battery for my RG a month ago. I settled on a Deka. Supposedly they manufacture HD batteries.

I've heard about failures of too many cheaper batteries, so I always buy the HD ones.

I dont know about the cost as all things have gone up . I have these in my cars and it will be the next one I buy for my FL

Odyssey or HD whichever you can find for the best price. I know you can get HD from Chicago HD or Zanotti's, & I think you can find Odyssey on ebay. Both are online somewhere. The Odyssey batteries on ebay come from a distributor in Jacksonville, Fla. I used to live there & would just go over & pick 'em up. They're good batteries.

You want a "gell cell", or an A.G.M. battery. The wet cell cheap batteries at Walley World will work for a while, but you have to deal with the PITA over flow tube.
