Default Fairing Cap

OK, I'm going to adjust my handlebars up some to see if it relieves my back pain..

Does the outer faring have to be removed to remove the fairing cap?

Yes, I have a manual and after reading all of the steps, my head is spinning..

If so, I'll wait for my oil temp gauge and pull it for that, garage door opener, HID headlight and bracket enforcement pieces.

removing the outer fairing is easier than removing the cap for the cap u have to remove the ignition.

no. you need to pull the ignition per the manual, remove 1 torx on each side. remove rubber bumpers under the bars then ease the cap up and disconnect wire haness. remove and access to bars is granted
removing outer fairing will not grant access to hadlebar risers

And then you will only have access to the bottom two bolts, but that should be enough to loosen it to adjust handlebars. To have access to the two top bolts you need to pull the outer fairing and the radio.

Before you go to the trouble of adjusting bars ask yourself if you are riding with a relaxed grip. I noticed you have an 09. Is it possible you have a bit of tension in your grip?
Also, back rests work wonders.

I tried to relax them, still not sitting in an upright position. Riders backrest is on order also.
