Harleys are for riding, stocks and bonds are for trading. Nuff said!

I never even start to think about it. I paid about 22,500 out the door for my 08' Street Glide.....I guess I would dump it for about 20K.....or at least enough for a new 09' model.
Hell I added a bunch of stuff....I know you cant get your money back out of the mods, but if I found a guy who knows me and knows how I keep my rides.....and who wanted to just buy a SG thats all done already.....I know I could pull a bit more then 20K for it. I added a Clearview windshield, Windshield bags, all matching Ironsides grips, rider and passenger footboards, shifter peg rear brake pad, girder shift and brake levers, chrome shifter rod, Riveco air horns, new style FLHX Sundowner seat, Rinehart TD's and SE-Heavy Breather intake and a SE Pro Race Tuner, bag lid spoilers w/LED's, rear crash bars, highway pegs(the good $$$ ones), petcock chrome cover, Kury license plate frame, chrome levers, JBL speakers, oil temp gauge to replace the ambient temp gauge, Sylvania Silver Star head light bulb....and recently a TWR Missing Link (outstanding product BTW).....there are more items, but I cant remember them all. I wouldnt sell it for a dime less then what a brand new fresh out of the box never sat on by anyone but the tech who did the *** & prep, either pewter the gloss one, or the sun glow red one w/ABS and cruise 2009 Street Glide would cost me. If anyone wanted to give me less they could go hit the friggen ramp! I like my 08' WAY too much to let it slip away. I dont care what I got into it....all I know is the title is in my hand, and I would be will to start over fresh on a 09' for a even trade....but nothing less....seriously not even a dime less!

Yeah, those days are over. In 06 I traded my 04 Nightrain off for a new SG and got $1500 less than I paid for it. I was thinking about trading the SG off for a new one a couple of weeks ago but the dealer only wanted to give me $12,500 for my bike. I got to thinking how much it would cost for a new Tour Pak, seats, backrests, the OL's sissy bar, all the stuff I've got for the 06 that won't fit an 09 and told them no thanks. Besides, the way the economy is going I might be begging for bread on a street corner one of these days.

I traded my 04 Dyna in 05 and only lost a little bit. When I was looking at trading in the 06 Heritage for a RG they were going to try to steal it. I sold it private party and now I'm holding tight for a used 09 RG - figure I can find one in January or February. Now that I know what the stealers are giving folks I figure I can drive a pretty hard bargain or I'll go with Chopper exchange or craigslist.

I just purchased a new "08" Ultra. Dealer came down 3800 off list. I was ready to buy a used 07 at another dealership when I found this one. Only 1700 more for new. With dealers dropping pricing on the new models to move them. At least in my area, it will greatly de value the used bikes. sign of the times.

Used to it.....**** since I installed the TWR Missing Link a week or so ago, I am starting to fall in love with it. It feels like a totally different bike now.....solid as a rock....where before it always felt like I was getting a flat tire in the rear while I was going down the highway. Now I can take a curve at highway speed without having to worry that there may be a dip or some bumps at the apex that are going to put me into a 80MPH tank slapper!
