Just wanted to give you a heads up on a company that specializes in waterproof 100% leather gear....gloves ( naked and lined) , single leg chaps, jackets, etc that are 100% waterproof, soft and stylish. Check out the SINGLE LEG CHAPS....no more extra belt buckles or worrying if they will fit around your gut. Prices are EXTREMELY REASONABLE too.
Got a pair of the Gauntlet style lined riding gloves.... sure beats those 3 fingered monstrocities for keeping your hands warm and dry in the rain.
They're known for their gloves, but like I said, they have other products too.
People there are very, very helpful and are a pleasure to work with. The local dealer didnt have the size and style we needed, and Adrielle at Hugger went out of her way to be sure we had the gloves before our trip to the Harley Museum. Stop by their site and give them a look.
I treat my leathers with Sno-seal. It works fine, but it should be done in warm weather so it will soak in. It's a bit sticky right after the treatment, but that soon goes away.
Questor.....
For crying out loud....... I dont know too many people going to S.E. Asia to go on vacation or ride on a daily basis friend...... and further more I dont know of any gooks who wear gloves, let alone LEATHERS in Nam. So put your pipe down and ask Hans Solo to give you a ride back to "the world"......the war ended 30 years ago man
It's the treatment they do to All Leathers they sell. I dont like full fingered gloves...but I would want my palm and under fingered areas dry. Also, once leather gets soaked, the leather looses it's shape, gets hard and unless it's put on a form, will shrink. Remember the OJ trial....his glove didnt fit becuse the blood shrank it. It's nice to know that in hot weather, if you went through a shower, that your gloves wont get soaked and slippery....fingered or not.
I understand where they are coming from as it is very hard to have leather that will not allow water to get in if there is enough water long enough.
I use pure mink oil paste followed by a water/leather treatment made for saddles and I have never had any of my treated leather to leak or soak up water. Works good on stock/factory HD seats too.
