Has anyone put the F4 Speedglass windshield on their Ultra Classic? It's supposed to be scratch resistant and have a tougher Lexan layer . They demonstrate you can't scratch it with steel wool. My 07 Ultra windshield with 22,000 miles already has a few tiny flakes where the coating came off when I was cleaning bugs off the windshield. I always used cycle care 33 which is supposed to be safe however I see a few tiny chips or flakes where the coating is coming off. I would get the F4 if it is really as good as they say.
Question 2- I can't get a straight answer on K&N air filters from Harley. Can you put a K&N air filter on a stock 07 Ultra Classic without changing or modifying anything else? Will it improve anything or just wasting money?
Can't help with the first question but here's my opinion on the 2nd. I don't think you'll improve performance but you will have a filter with a million mile guarantee.
Never heard of the speedglass though it sounds interesting. I personally would not add the air filter without something to richen the mix. It will make it run more lean than it does already. Think it's hot now?
I have the F4 windshield made with speedglass on my Standard. It's not impossible to scratch it as it's scratch resistant not scratch proof. The optical clarity is outstanding, no distortion seen when looking through it leaning into a turn. It beads water quite well also; you can use Rain-X on the surface too. It is pricey, but I really got spoiled looking through a windshield and the F4 solved most if not all of the issues of looking through a windshield.
