Thinking of trading in my 07 Road King Classic for an 09 Ultra Classic. Im having a hard time jusifing it. My 07 runs like a champ with 15K on her, Im in need of more creature comforts. Has anyone else made the move from RKC to an Ultra?
I had a RKclassic and it was an awesome bike then I went to a Roadglide and I like that even more now I rode a number of Batwing baggers that I work on and to me the windshield is in my face and I cant get enough air, on my Roadglide
the radio and removeable tourpak make this a well rounded bike that fits all my needs
cruise is great for the long haul too
now if its just a matter of a seat or storage work with what you have
any how good luck
If you want to, do it. I doubt you need us to hold your hand on such a decision since you haven't given us just cause for your trading.....ie....repetitive mechanical breakdowns etc.. etc. You do mention creature comforts, so what you have to do is ask yourself how much are you willing to pay for those comforts. I personally can't put a price on that for you but maybe someone else can.
Yep, went from an 05 Road King Classic to an 09 Ultra Classic. The RKC was a great bike. The Ultra is a fantastic bike. Make the jump, you won't be sorry.
Man up!!! Just kidding. I cant see you complaining about an Ultra. I am sure you will never look back. I have a Standard that is getting closer to an Ultra everyday. I love the friggin bike as I am sure you will love the 09 upgrades. You will love the surplus comforts over your RK, not to mention the perks of the 09 redesign. If money were not an issue, I would be sporting an 09 Ultra. Love my 07, but come on, did you see that rear tire. Good luck with your choice. Hope your 09 Ultra makes you smile every day.
go sit on an Ultra then you will not need us to make up your mind for you. I made the move a few weeks ago and haven't regretted it for one minute. Once your in you cannot get out!!
