Im running tmax w/auto tune.Getting 40 to 42 cruise 80 to 90 mph.And 35 or so when enjoying the ride.Ive read abunch of guys are getting 50 mpg just never met anyone who does so.personally aslong as its cheaper than my dodge with that damn hemi I can make it sound sensable to ride the bike.Hell even at its worst it beats 13.5 around town just hard to haul 2x4s and plywood on bike.
hi stro1965, im still using map 403 it is still workin good for me, but i was hoping some one with some new tricks on the tmax would pop in here like some young computer slash bike genious lol. but here is my afr tables cruise range. From 0 deg throttle position to 14.8 tps(idle range) iam at afr 13.8, then at tps 20 deg to 34.28 deg (cruise range) my afr is set at 14.294 , then it gradually slopes to 13.0 afr.
FWIW, my mileage improved when I carried the leaner afr's out to about 40% throttle.
kool i will give that a try, i would like to see 43 mpg cuz i'm hoping to take some long trips next year and want to make an economy map without going over board. i don't know if i will have time to see the results since it's gettin colder where i'm at but thanks for the info. also i tried lowering the accel fuel to 8 but did not make a difference so i put it back.
Man I wish I knew what the hell you guys are talking about. I know what AFR means and know what a fuel manager is but you are making my head spin.
spiz
yeah it makes mine spin sometimes too, they say efi is more efficient but i don't know if i believe it. i hear of some people with carbs that getter mpg than efi and the motors don't get as hot. go figure.
EFI is definitely better than carburation in terms of accuracy. But it needs to have good sensors and wiring connectors to maintain that level of accuracy. The mileage and heat conditions are more a result of other factors such as cam timing, etc. as compared to the older models. Thank all your "green" friends for that!
I have an 07 RKC V&H set up with big sucker and I was getting 35-38 miles per gal, I went on a long trip and now average 45 city and 50 highway. I am using map 384 and have run the stock set up all summer. As I mention after the trip I am getting huge difference in milage. I now have ove 6000 miles on the tmax, it has done wonders for my machine, the heat issues are gone, the bike has great power and I would never go back to stock. Best money spent.

The stock set up is the canned map 394. I did no work to in in terms of setting the AFR, or timing. I thought I would ride the summer and see if the AutoTune actually functioned as intended. The tuner is as they advertise. Run a map that is close to your set up, ride the bike and it tunes itself. Thats it. I saved on the Dyno, Have loads of power, MPG is higher and the heat issue is gone.
Yes CONFUSED, I am still running the V&H with Big sucker. For my money I would buy nothing less than a TMAX, look I do not work for or am affiliated with them, But I bolted this thing in, followed directions that were simple, turned on the bike and the rest is history
