Default Squeaking Rear Brake....08 Standard.
It drives me insane. Anyone have any ideas how to stop it. It has done it since new, so I'm sure its not the pads. I was told once squeaking occurs where the piston touches the pad and not the pad on the disk as most would assume. Any help would be appreciated.

My 08 did it when new, but has gotten better with miles. I haven't heard them squeaking at all after I got to about 1500 miles.

There is something you can put on the back-side of the pads that will stop it. Avalible at AutoPart stores.

It's possible that the anti-rattle spring has moved or shifted out of position and is stuck. Another possibility is brake dust build up around the anti-rattle spring. Short of pulling the rear caliper, try pulling the pads and blowing out the caliper. Then check the spring for free play.

Bring it to your dealer. They have a service bulletin for the 08 rear brake squeal.

Default Squeaky Brakes
There is a dealer notification out on this issue. If you do a search on here you should be able to come up with the Notification #. When I brought my 08 SG in for the fuel basket recall I asked them to look at the brake issue. They did and no more squeaking brakes.

Great information, I a little over 1,300 miles on mine and it's still squeaking so I will be making a trip up this weekend. Thanks.
