Just recieved my docking hardware kit, chrome doo-hickie covers and backrest in the mail yesterday and then saw a pic of the kit installed (sans backrest) on a Street Glide here on this forum. Wow! is that the best the MoCo can do? Talk about looking like a di*k on a fish!!
Now I can't bring myself to install the kit and ugly up that (finally) beautiful rear end!!
Anybody got any word on if any aftermarket companies are stepping up to the plate and addressing this?

It sticks out in the open and the way the frame rails are made I would've put the docking pins? themselves right into the frame rail which would at least semi hide them between the fender and the bags. Maybe the problem is that this would require reworking all the detachables so the bean counters said no. There are some very hi-res pics of a red 09 on this formum you can look at for reference. Maybe it's just me but the smooth, phat rear end is my favorite (visual) part of the new Street Glide and those brackets really clutter it up.
4 point, bought it for possible future tourpack but that's not getting installed now. I'll consider the two point as it's less obtrusive. May wind up fabbing my own, we'll see.
I agree with you. There is a 09 SG in the classified section that has the 2 point. I was thinking of getting the 4 point removable. But after seeing the 2 point on the pictures in the classified section I might not get it at all
Dunno why (some) people seem to feel this looks so bad. Would you rather have the big loops hanging out the back like prev years? There does have to be some level of FUNCTION to these things. I suspect that their position is also a factor of where they have to be located so as to not exert undo leverage/strain on the docking points.
If they were tucked down deep between the bags and the fender, Ill bet people would be upset that its hard to get the tour pak on without dinging the fender or the bag lids in the process.
