Hey guys,
I bought a chrome kit for my EGS. Went today to get the hardware since they don't include it with the kit..(of course)..I went with all 12 point chrome bolts..cost me a fortune but iI think it's going to look great.
My question is, in the Parts catalog under hardware it states the size bolt then it says "w/Lock Patch"....what is "Lock Patch". I think it is a washer because most of the stock hardware on the bike that has this description has a washer (not a lock washer). Could it be Loctite?
If it is a washer, is it needed on the 12 point chrome bolts? I ask this because the 12 pt bolt head sits on an outer rim that is part of the bolt head.
The parts that call for a bolt "w/Lock Patch" are Trans Top Cover, Cam Cover, Primary, Trans Side Cover, and Rocker Box Cover.
Lock patch is a small amount of locktite pre-applied to the bolt. It comes packaged this way.

Thanks Ultrared. Looking closely at the hardware I can see it..thx.
So on the original hardware that has washers, is the 12 pt bolt alone okay to use for the install?
