I'm using Kennedy Cell Set from www.cyclegadgets.com to connect Zumo 550 into Harley factory set up. Bluetooth connection from cell phone to Zumo, wired connection from Zumo to Harley. Can use cell phone through factory helmet, which allows me to hear music at same time. Of course, if you use the AUX connector on radio, only thing you can hear is Zumo unless you keep switching back and forth. I've heard the J&M product is good too.
I am assuming based on Merlin's comments that all the wire will run down the handlbar and into the fairing and hook up to harness inside there as well as to the back of the radio.
