Default Road King Classic bag locks

Are there any aftermarket bag locks available for the Road King Classic? $200.00 seems a little high to me. Thanks George

I saw one on ebay a few weeks ago. Looked like you simply drill a hole through the front of the bag. It had trim that made it look like part of the bag. But I can't vouch for whether it's any good.

I, too, am put off by the HD price. The advantage is that it uses your existing HD key so you don't have to carry around another set. It takes a couple of weeks to get them. I'd be interested to hear how people who have them think they work and are they worth it.

Hey guys do a search on Road King Saddle Bag Lock in the Tourning section and you will find a few option. Also one of the guys installed the H-D locks and reconnected his straps to the bag vs. the lid so he never has to mess with them again. I just ordered the H-D locks today after researching this forum and the internet. I just like the fact I do not have to drill any holes in the front of the bag. Good Luck!!

HD bag locks are expensive but a good addition.
There are some tricks to the install-if you do it PM me and I'll share my experience.
I put the straps on the bag, not the lid. There was a post here late last year that gave me the idea.
You will need a right angle drill.
Order the lock kit and give the dealer your key # so the locks will match. Off the shelf locks will be different.

I too installed the locks and got additional instructions from one of the forum folks (very helpful!). The right angle drill threw me, I don't have one and didn't want to buy one. So I used a nail ... laid the bag down on a 2x4 (covered with a rag) and with the the Inner Plate "clamped" in place, pounded the nail from the inside thru the bag in the appropriate spots ... then used the drill from the outside.

I did the install of the HD lock setup. But instead of buying a right angle drill, I went to Home Depot and bought a right angle attachment from Millwakee for $25.00.
I also bought my lock kit from Zanotti's for $144.90

Anybody needs help or pics pm me

I was under the impression that the only lock for the RKC that the stealer offered was the one to lock the bags to the bike. I have seen the lock kit offered by lock your leathers offered on other websites for roughly the same price. You may want to use one of them because when I called the number for lock your leathers it rang to some guy's house and he said he doesn't install them any more but gave me his wife's phone number if I wanted to call her to get one. Here are some pics and another site that I found. Obviously they are mainly to keep honest people out because you could easily ****** the bag open and break it or the lock.

If someone does install one or has installed one I would look forward to some feedback.

RKC Lock Kit

Thanks

I own and installed the ones you show.
The key is to make sure your measurements for the pair of holes for the two catch mounting bolts are BANG ON!
If you screw up and mount the inside catch too high of too low on the side of the bag the locking arm won't engage it's catch. I got all cocky on my second bag, went and screwed up the measurement and had a hell of a time getting it to latch.

Feel free to PM me or re-post if you have any other questions.

For anyone interested I just happen to have a 2nd new pair for sale.
