i like mine it wont fall over like my sport bike did.
with its lean you can put all you weight on the right floor board and the bike wont move.

Something to think about. Where there may not have been a problem before, when the bike was more balanced on the jiffy stand. Now there is a lot more weight of the bike on the stand because of the lean angle. Be extra careful of the soft stuff!

the 09 jiffy stand is a bit different than the earlier one. the tang used to lower and raise it is longer. looking at it a guy could get an aluminum block and shape it to match the contour of the foot and bolt it on to increase the thickness. could be a little wider too for use on soft ground. would hardly be noticable to passers-by.

Sound like just what I have been thinking. I hope Bradley Jones comes up with something. If he does I'm sure it will be a good fix. Lets hope

J&P has a wedge shaped piece for earlier years that changes the angle of the mount. a design for the 09s would be favorable. last night i inserted a piece of 5/16 id rubber hose in the cavity where the jiffy stand is located with the weight off the stand. it holds the bike about an inch or so higher when leaning. care has to be taken as doing this doesn't give the locking tab much contact area in the slot to prevent forward movement of the bike on the stand.

It's not a problem, some of you guys worry too much.

If you have to do something, I guess you could do like the BMW riders and bolt on a hockey puck-

Harley has always had a notoriously left lean on the kick stands. You new blood out there that have never kicked over an old knucklehead or 45, won't quite understand this. But to kick off one of those old scoots took a real man. The average sized male 170-190 lbs would have to kick it off the stand with everything he had on the right side. Harley has always had a great kick stand, even in the guilt ridden AMF days. If you see someone with one of those old scoots with the bike peddle on the right side, ask them if you can kick it off once, just to say you've done it. If you get it right, and it's got a decent carb job on it, you bust it off on the second kick. If you don't have the motor on the backside of the compression stroke, you be the first to know it. if those scoots were more upright, you'd never get it done unless you're my size. It's just simple physics folks, nothing else.

I'm sure that once the run out of the old stands the new ones will be perfect. Then you'll only need to buy a new one. Hey, they gotta eat too!

Boy, I'm glad my 08 doesn't have all those problems like Kickstands, too much weight, heat on the right leg, etc.. Now we can talk about the 09's for awhile.
