Default jiffy stand

any one have a solution for the apparent shortness of the jiffy stand on the 09 FLH series. it was obvious when i picked up 09 in the trailer that it leaned more and i had to move the mirror while it was leaning as i strapped it down. dealer advised me they leaned more. when i climb on a i have gotten used to using my body weight momentum to lift the bike now. on my 01 i could sit down and then lift it. a longer or different angle on the outboard end looks to be needed.

I sure am glad to know that I wasn't imagining this. Just picked up the new ultra Saturday and I felt like there was a problem here, but had not been on an ultra in awhile and wondered if it was me.

Checked the HD web site and this part does not seem to extend the stand itself only the piece your heel touches to let it up and down. It does not seem to be a fix for the problem of too much lean.

Duh them great HD engineers, designers or whatever you call them were to tight *** to spend the money for a longer stand. That might be there great improvement on a future model- new redisgned stronger longer kick stand.

I guess it's cheaper to make us all carry a small block of 2 X 4 in our saddle bags instead of giving us a kickstand long enough.

Maybe this is HDs way to get you to buy a lowering kit so you can bring the ground up to the kickstand :>) Sorry, I couldn't resist....sounds to me like maybe the "frame guys" weren't talking to the "kickstand guys" when the 09 changes where being designed.

I contacted Bradley Jones, about making some sort of block, that would fit the bottom of the jiffystand and raise it about 1 1/4 inches. It would stay attached to the jiffystand, not something you would have to mess around with every time you parked. I am sure he will let us know when he has something out there. Lets hope anyway.

Put me in line as well. The problem only worsens with a 21" on the front. Getting my new 18" on the rear next weekend and wondering how much that will raise it.
