Default Tranny Case Differences?

Has anyone compared an earlier (00) tranny case alongside a later model case? Is the only difference the diameter of the rear mounting hole or are the later cases actually beefed up to accept the larger swing arm pin?

I want to machine out an 00 traany case to accept the later model 3/4" swing arm pin. I've been getting some conflicting info on whether or not this is a safe thing to do. It doesn't seem like the small amount of material being removed should make much difference in the strength unless the older tranny is borderline to begin with.

Thanks,
Rick

Default Trans case

what exact model do you have? Would help some to know what you are talking about.

I'll be using a late model swing arm on a 00 Road King.

Default answered before

I answered this question before HERE. If you want a different answer just measure them yourself. Do you think I do not know what I am talking about or that I did not already research this before by physically measuring? I take offense to you asking again after 3 days. Just find out for yourself.

I also asked about added vibration for which you never gave an answer. I've had 3 emails from guys that have done a total of 7 of these conversions by machining the tranny mount to accept the larger pin and none reported having any issues. I haven't decided which way I want to go yet but I see no reason not to get as much info as possible. If you have a problem with that I'm sorry.
