Default Decisions: Security? Profile Wheels?

My dealer has located for me a Red Hot Sunglo Street Glide that has cruise and ABS. I'm undecided on him adding security and profile wheels to it.

What's the consensus here on security? Is it worth it? If you didn't get it do you ever wish you had?

Now to the Profile wheels. I love the looks of them but I'm not keen on getting stuck on the road without the ability to plug a tire. Most of my riding will be local but may take 1 long trip a year on it.

So Profiles wheels on a street glide.... yes/no?

Thanks!

IMO, the wheels look great in person but my opinion is biased.

I think the security is a must. I hate having to lock and unlock every time I stop. My old bike had the old style security and it worked good but I know I am really going to like the new security. When my bike goes in for the 1K service I'm having security installed.

I hate laced/profile wheels (anything with spokes). If you are paying to replace the wheels, spend you money on some nice chrome wheels of some sort.

My bike was on the showroom floor and it had security. I didn't want to mess with the fobs, codes, dead fob batteries so I had the dealer put it in the service mode. Its all still there, it just doesn't work.

It might stop someone from messing with your bike, but I don't think it will stop someone who is intent on stealing it, and I buy insurance for all that anyway.
IMO not worth the money.

security systems will keep the honest people away and you stranded one day!! Laced wheels is a personal preference!! I personally would hate to try and clean them!

Is it worth it? Yes, I Think so. I was really on the fence with the security system and opted not to add it when ordering my bike. However, I added the security system at the first service. I don't have a siren and don't think it will stop a thief who is bent on stealing my bike. I think of it more as a key less ignition more than a security system. Without the security system, you have to dig your key out of your pocket and lock the ignition at every stop. It is a very convenient option.

I do like the security, but no on the wheels. Cast is the only way to go. NO tubes to mess with, and the cast wheels can quite often be fixed on the road.

Default laced wheels

when i bought my SG last year, it had the mag wheels on it, they swapped them out for the chrome laced wheels. IMO i would take the wheels over the security, the look of the bike with chrome rims makes it for me. it only takes two seconds to lock the bike. I dont have the security option on mine and i am not missing it. Insurance taked care of that.

I say no to both. I don't have the security system. My RK came with laced wheels. As soon as I wear out the rear tire, I am changing to cast wheels that I have waiting in the garage.
