I agree with most of the post i pull up behind them and if they wave me up i move up other wise i stay behind.......just being respectable to there space.
Unless I know the rider, I stay behind. Being friendly is good but if their skill level is not good and they start off and wobble in the lane and you are are next to them, they can clip you and that is a bad day....

Lets say you roll up to a red light and there is another bike in front of you. You dont know them, but the are off to one side of the lane. Do you pull up beside them or do you just stay off to the side, but still behind them?????
