Paid $244 for two Avon Venoms fr Eastern performance an Indy charged me $20.00 for his half hr. I can buy a lot of brewskies or chrome for the difference. So far I love the Avons but only have 800 miles on them.

Know his shop well. A friend of mine builds his transmissions for him.
My son just sold his 67 Coronet to buy a Harley. It was a bitter sweet condition... we spent alot of hours together building that car. But we are anticipating some good times riding together. Oh yeah! I drive a 67 Dart GT. Hijacked my own thread. Wish I could find a $200.00 deal like that . I've been getting prices on the tire all by it's self for $193.00.

Tires went up a lot this year, like everything else.

Dealer's rates are by the book. I think the book rate for a rear tire change is 1.5 hours even though it takes them 30 minutes or less.

I ordered a Elite III from JP cycles and took it to an indy. I also bought a set of Lyndale racing brakes pads. Paid $200 total.

The tire can be purchased (mail order) for $130-$140 including shipping, and no sales tax. The rest is additional profit on the tire, labor, and profit on labor that dealers charge. If you want to save a *lot* of money, have someone show you how to change it yourself.
