Default Wind Buffeting

All,

I have a Street Glide which does everything I want with one exception. Wind coming under the batwing and up into the cockpit when I have my feet up on the highway pegs is pretty bad--many times worse than when I'm on the floorboards. What if anything have you done to keep the buffeting under control without unduly restricting airflow over the engine? Thanks

Theres a part that goes between the forks and the tank (front fork air baffle?) it kind of helps but i have yet to find ANYTHING that makes it really any better.

When its windy , Your going to feel it because the wind is also pushing on the fairing

Best thing I have done is get the wind deflectors that go right underneath the batwings for $30 through the dealer. Yes...............believe it or not you can get out of the dealership for under $100! I think they come in clear, tinted, and black! Really helped out I feel! Good luck.

+1....................I got a set off of e-bay and the ones I have are hinged so you can open and close them, similar to the UC's.

Get the fork deflectors, fork baffle, and install the adjustable batwing "wings."

The fork deflectors make the biggest difference, but also block the most wind to the engine, so I only run them in fall and spring.

I have the fork baffle and it works. It also make it a little warmer, I had mine on during the summer for a little while then took it off. Just put it back on last week since its starting to cool down

Go for the cheap easy fix first. The wind deflectors on the bottom of the Bat Wing are cheap and simple. Then if you don't like them your not out much. I have them on mine and you can hardly notice them - see pic below.
