first mod i made to my 08 streetglide was installing the batwing outer deflectors, adjustable ones just like the ultras now have. they help a lot, and also put on the air baffle that screws into the holes in the back of the bottom triple tree. those two mods made a world of difference. they quit putting the air baffle on in eighty four or so, when the evo came out. used to be on the touring bikes. i only put mine on when it's cool weather, three quarter inch allens, no big deal. the adjustable deflectors are easy too. with mine i had to run a 10/24 tap into the screw holes first, as they weren't tapped. that is the thread and size of the screws that hold the deflectors to the fairing. easy to do.

My 06 Ultra came with the solid ones on the fairing. I changed them last year for the adjustable ones. They work great when you need the air in hot weather. I keep them closed most of the time to stop the buffeting at highway speeds on my bike. Open them up and you get a work out. The air dam, I put it on and never took it off. The front fork air dams, I took them off last spring and will put them on pretty soon. NOTE. If you buy a set of the front fork baffles, put a piece of plastic between them and where they mount so not to mark the chrome. I know from experience.

The fork deflectors make the biggest difference, but also block the most wind to the engine, so I only run them in fall and spring.
+1 the fork deflectors make the biggest difference. I modified a set to fit my street glide and made all the difference. I was able to take the baffle off in between the forks. wanted to get as much as air as possible to the rear of the engine. I leave my fork deflectors on all the time.

The air baffle on the bottom of the fork didn't work for me, I still had the same problem, way too much wind when my feet were up on the hiway pegs. I recently put on a set of Freedom Wings as i wanted to extend my cold weather riding season up here in Maine, and I would never have belied it, but the buffeting is GONE. I was going to take them off in the spring when it warms up, but now I am not so sure....have not tried the fork defelctors, don't need too now.

I bought a 8" Clearview with recurve to try, but I dont really want a shield that tall. I just ordered a cheaper 6" shield to try. If it works for me with the shorter shield I will order the 6.5 Clearview with recurve and sell the other 2 in the classified section.
