Default Brake noise

While moving I hear a slight rub sound from my front brakes. Not like the high pitch when your pads need changed, just a constant rub. When I apply my front brakes it stops or at least becomes where I can't here it over the motor. Is that normal? I have never had a bike with disk brakes so this new to me.

Default Normal

Yes, it is normal, at least for every Touring bike from Harley i've ever ridden. Always had that constant light rubbing sound, sounds normal to me.

Disc brakes drag, always. It's when they drag too much or the drag is not constant like a warped rotor sound of shh-shh-shh-shh, that there is a problem. A constant shhhhhhhhhhh is OK.

To reduce brake pad drag, here a Piston Cleaning Procedure that can be performed.

Check the axle tq. Dealer may have never used a tq wrench? Remove calipers and pads and clean both items. My frt brakes were always noisey as you descibed, wheel replacement and rotor replacement changed that.Stock calipers and pads were still used.

Ok, added problem with the brakes. I had to take my bike in for new frok seals and bushings. When I got it back the "noise is louder" and now when I roll of the throtle I hear a low pitch roar from the front. If I touch the brakes, I dont mean apply the brakes just bump the lever, the roar will stop. The service guy at the dealer said this is prob normal just the pads reseting. Does that sound right to you folks?

Yes, kinda. The pads do "bed" in with the rotors and once that bed was broked, and reset, it will take a little bit to bed them in again. New pads on old rotors are even worse with the noise.

So what do you mean by a little time? I put over 600 miles on so far and nothing has changed. Went to the mountains so I use my brakes alot. The work fine but the noise is driving me crazy.
