I senn HID's but not Harley type because they have only low beam and they are very expensive. In my unit a 35 watt kit draws 2.7 amps when warmed up but I have measured 2.2 amps fullly functioning. I do not know if this helps you.
Thanks guys..
GGC - Nice - you're one glow rail up on me!
FastHarley.. it's not a question of me changing to an HID, I already have the harley unit on the bike - it's got seperate reflectors for high and low beam.
Sandcrab - that law doesn't give me the answer for the HID system, since there's no wattage listed for the bulb. There's a ballast and an ignitor for the xenon tube.... I was looking for the current draw of the ballast.
I'm going to switch the running/turnsignals over to LED, since I added the 50 watt driving lights for nighttime - the ol night vision isn't what it used to be!

Please re-read the post. I answered the question by saying mine unit draws 35 watts @ 2.7 amps. I do not know what HD has for a system or if it is the usual 2.7amp 35 watt system common in HID. That is the answer you asked.
