for all you streetglide owners with the vibration problem, dont give up keep bugging H.D. They know there is a problem and they are giving us the shaft. My 06 has been in the shop so much that i think they see it more than i do. I have had fairing mounts replaced 7 times, motor mounts replaced twice, motor realigned twice plus motor torn into 3 times. shops admit there is excessive vibration. Even had one H.D. shop manager say he believes that it is the flywheels. He thinks that the sides are different weights but harley corp wont let him replace them. So im stuck with a bike that vibrates so bad parts are coming loose everywhere on the bike. I have dealt with dist. rep did no good now im going thru customer service again to try to get something done. IM NOT GIVING UP I paid way to much for this peice of crap to be stuck with it . BY the way when i asked what i should do with a bike that shook itself apart their reply was trade it in on a new one. Lets keep this thread going. We need to do something about harley not standing behind their over priced junk. Makes me want to buy a Victory, at least their bikes hold together
I gotta tell ya, that is amazing and I'm feeling your pain. Just being down all those days you got it in the shop sucks!
There's gotta be an explanation for the problem, but there isn't any explaination for Harley's poor treatment of you. They should have replaced the bike. Taken it back to the factory and torn it down to get to the bottom of the problem. Oh! Maybe they already know what the problem is.
Mine shakes in any gear or sitting stationary. 1800-2200 rpms it simply buzzes! Can't see out of the mirrors, windscreen blurs like a hummingbirds wings and the shift lever goes into spasms. On the road it makes the highway pegs work their way into the down position, and with my old boots, my feet actually keep working their way off the footboards! How 'bout that for a description! And remember this started 3 weeks ago, it wasn't always this way.
After 22,000 miles you know how a machine feels and believe me it would have come to my attention before now.
The HD rep was fine to deal with, but I just have this feeling that whatever it is it'll come back to bite me after the warranty is gone! I can tell you exactly why HD doesn't want to touch this stuff, I don't even need to use words....."$", plain and simple.

Well...there you have it, this description in the beginning of this quote is as if its the same bike. So when they checked the runout , what was the result??
up date.... Just got off the phone with customer service, was told that they were warned about me. I was told that my bike was fine that the vibration problem was normal. when i told them that i was told that the flywheels were out of balance they told me i could have them replaced but only at my own expense. basically told me i was a trouble maker when i said that the forums were full of people with the same problem being treated the same way. Why would Harley redesign the streetglide in 08 and 09 if they didnt think there was problems with the 06 and 07 bikes. My only recorse is to go for wisc. lemon law. IM NOT GIVING UP i paid way to much money for this harley crap. What happened to quality made in america? I have always swore by harley and now they are making me eat my words, their product let me down. Any one else getting the shaft by harley with their streetglides?
I got to tell you, when you mention the "forums" theyre gonna say (inside their heads) "here we go again".
Theres some good info being put out. And some bad info being repeated.
the Kash box isnt the same for everybody. (Knowledge, attitude, skills and habits).
keep records of every time you have taken your bike in get a copy of every service order that way if needed you can go thru the lemon law and just because your warrenty has run out dont mean you cant still use the lemon law. Harley knows there is a problem
I cant say whose side Im on here, not being able to tell whats been done to those bikes with the vibs just adds to it. What have you done to your bikes beyond stock?Going to a dealer that doesnt want to dig into it makes it even worse. If you feel sure that HD has pinned you into a corner then start complaining elsewhere.Did anyone file with the NHTSA yet? Its free guys and will make HD answer it somehow. The more the better, chances of all those complaints being owner related lessens. HD hates to see a angry owner get his complaint printed in a major magazine?Your states Attorney General is also free and will act as a go between when C/S keeps giving you the same line.Someone up the chain of command at HD will probably contact you.Got a video camera? Post a clip of the vibration, here and at you-tube.Runouts bad??do the same!Look around other HD forum sites and see if others also have this complaint, join in,get those owners to post on just one site and keep that post alive everyday. Ever see that vehicle parked outside a car dealership with some big sign on it calling it a lemon or something worse?? That vehicle doesnt sit there very long before someone takes action.
