Street Glide rides and handles great and you are doing the right thing with getting additional windshields. The windshield was the only issue I had with the SG. I don't mind a little wind in the face but there was this concentrated turbulence that hit me right around nose level and actually rattled my head. I ordered a 9" from fastaire also but haven't received it yet.
The ride of the lowered shocks suck. Just my opinion. I own a SG, love the looks but I had to change the shocks. Purchased shocks on ebay from a '05 Ultra Classic for $47. The ride is now fantastic and I have still maintained the SG look. You can hardly notice the difference.
I was just out with my wife for the first time yesterday, the ride is finr, very happy with and more important so Is my wife. You will not regret the SG.
Fastaire 9" smoked windshield came the other day and that solved the problem. No more turbulence. A little wind in the face after 50 mph. Exactly what I was looking for!
