I set rear pad of my jack right against the front of the crossmember (Craftsman Pro). Yes, it is normal for the hardware on the brutal stock exhaust to corrode. Get out the sawzall, cut those suckers off and get a decent exhaust system on your ride.
I don't have the Craftsman jack but I put my rear pad under the channel on my RK. No problems with stability so far. Yes the exhaust hardware corrodes.[:'(]
I run my jack right in the channel and so far so good - I lift the jack slightly and set it up from the right side of the bike - I get good balance- By the way - Even some "decent" exhaust hardware will corrode
Thanks...I will try and get it in the channel and see if that helps. I guess I will try and spin the hardware on my pipes further inward, too...just looks like s@%$ sitting there stickin' out like that. Oh, and Bounty...my stock exhaust is safe and sound...IN MY GARAGE!!! My V&H are very nice, thank you!!!
Y'all have a good one!
My craftsman pro jack will not fit in the channel. I slid it right up next to it and lift it. Looks like it is off when I start but it goes up fine and is balanced.
