Bone stock 06 Electraglide with 63,000 miles on it, Sampson Fishtail exhaust & Fullsac true duals. All I want out of motor mods is low end torque & good mileage.
I'm considering the HD Stage 1 or Stage 2 kits and would like to hear your comments.

Yes, I understand the true duals may be costing me low end torque and just might be persuaded to go back to the stock headers.

Geoff: I installed the Head-Quarters HQ-0034 cams (they're a popular bolt-in cam) in my bone stock 88" '04 EG w/ Rinehart TD's and SE a/c and the power improvement for normal riding has been enough for me to forget about 95" high performance builds. The RTD's may "cost" me 3-5 ft. lbs of torque early in the rpms compared to a Fatcat or other 2-inot-1, but not enough for me to justify ditching the look/sound of the RTD's. From a 2K roll-on, my bike runs stronger than my buddies' 95" SE Big Bore builds with or without SE cams on their baggers. I have another buddy with street-ported heads, and the same cams and exhaust as I do in his '02 RK Custom, and his bike may or may not be as strong, or slightly stronger, than my bike--we've only done a couple of 2K roll-ons and results were ambiquous.
With 63K on your bike, you will want/need to open the camchest to replace the cam chain tensioners if they haven't already been replaced--mine were toast at 40K miles.
And if I did do a 95" motor, I'd simply have my jugs precision machined rather than buy an SE kit with jugs--the HD SE cylinders are mass-produced and are occasionally out-of-round--machining your own at a competent machine shop assures a good bore, and is less costly than buying new jugs.
Good luck with your research.

Nothing wrong with the SE stage II kits. You will see an improvement in the low end torque. There are plenty of sponsors on this forum that can get you better power for the same amount of money or less. The key to the whole process is getting for bike tuned correctly after the work is done. See my sig for what my 06 has...I average 40mpg and get 45mpg regularly on the highway even when riding 2 up.
You don't need to switch back to the stock headers the TD are fine if tuned correctly. Of course if you want the most from a build then a 2into1 pipe is best.

Kind of funny to me. When I see "bone stock" to me that means entirely stock. That means stock intake, exhaust plumbing, mufflers, and ECU programming.
If you put the Fullsac kit on and didn't address your EFI programming you're not running right. There is a fairly considerable difference in the fuel mapping between the stock touring exhaust and dual pipes. This needs to be addressed. Being you have an open-loop-only EFI I'm surprised you're satisfied with the way it's running the way you have it set up; that is if you didn't use a SERT or at least a Power Commander to adjust your fueling. If you haven't done so, that would be the first thing I'd advise you to consider. Then take it from there if you're unhappy still.
Hay Geoff: Whidbey Islander here, I am doing a stage 1 so far I already did the Fulsack TD and SE intake then had it remapped. I just ordered the 95 pistons and Jug's. I can only do a little at a time. ( one of those on strike at Boeing types) Next I will try to save enough to do gear cams and a new oil pump. some say that changing the oil pump will increase HP I need to do some more research on that. I did a lot of reading on the tuners and bought a SERT. mostly because I got a good deal on it. good luck on what ever you decide. Al
