I did a search, with no luck. I read on here about a NON-Harley battery about half the price. Anyone know what it was, where to buy?? My nephew just got back from Iraq and his is dead.
Thanks a bunch guys...
He'd been in Irag for about 4 months (got back yesterday) and had just bought his 2005 Road King 3 weeks before he left. His first street bike, ever, but rode in the dirt for years! Had I been thinking I would have made sure he had a charger on it.
He's one of those gung-ho, let's git 'em kinda guys. Can't mention what he does, but I bet you know by that what I mean. Anyway, he hasn't even gotten a license yet, but cheated a little and rode the bike on the streets of his sub-division the 3 weeks before he left. He said he couldn't quit smiling, as we all know what that's like !!! I'm very proud of him, he's a pure patriot and MORE than willing to die for his country and his men. This was his 3rd trip there and he just told me he's going back in 70 -75 days.
I searched for the battery with no luck, but I know someone will pipe in here with the name of it and where to get it. I told him don't waste his $$$ on a new one with HARLEY on it.
These AGM batteries are pretty tough. Mine lasted 7yrs using at Tender jr during the winter months. You might try putting a charge on his current battery before you go buy a new one. If you go outside HD battery I've heard Interstate makes a good AGM battery.
I've heard great things about the Odyssey Battery. MCN had an article on them, and so did one of the other Rags. A little spendy, but if you keep em on a tender, they're getting about 5 years out of them.
