As was mentioned earlier, that article was a bagger roundup and included the '08 Road King, so the HD used in the comparison was not the new state of the art '09 Road King.
I believe it came in second despite not being the new touring platform.
I too love the looks of the king and how sweet it looks with the windshield removed.
Yesterday (while picking up a part at the local HD dealer), I noticed there were an unusually high number of 2008 RKs on the floor amidst all of the 2009 SGs and Ultras...
I asked the dealer about it, and he said they were selling a TON of RGs and SGs and just weren't selling the RKs at the same clip...
Wouldn't surprise me if they did do away with the Road King. It does seem most bagger riders...well... ride baggers ala the Street and Road Glide's and the Ultra's. I may be there someday but the Road King (especially the Classic) to me still doesn't fall into the bagger catagory. I still like the wind in my face and the feel of riding a motorcycle.
If they stop making the Classic then I guess my Classic will be even more classic!

A fairing doesn't make a bagger a bagger, it's the bags that make it a bagger.
