I just made a trip through Ark and Ok on my 08' RG. We rode 1300 miles in 4 days and my neck and shoulders and wrists were sore. I have 10000 miles on the bike and always thought the bars were ok but after riding for long distances I noticed this problem. I am 6'1' and noticed at times that if I leaned back my arms were straight. Most of the time I think I was leaning too far forward putting too much strain on my wrists. I have read that the heritage or wide glide bars are better. I was thinking that they would be too far back. Has anybody my size put different bars on their Rg beacuse of this probelem and fixed it? T.
Yeah, I'm right at 6' & have the Wide Glide bars, & have put a set on a 6' 3" friends '08 Road Glide. We're both more comfortable, & the mirrors are up where they work instead of showing us our elbows. As for being too far back, just rotate 'em forward to where they feel comfortable. Another friend ('bout 5' ll") with an '06 Road Glide also has the Wide Glide bars & rotates 'em back toward him for comfort.
the other day i was sitting on an '09 CVO Road Glide and the first thing i noticed was the new handlebars. Check them out. I found them to be much more ergonomic than the previous stock bars. I'm 6' tall. It's about time they made a change.
I'm 5'7" and use the Heritage bars on my RG. All the cables and brake lines work without changing them and it moves the hand grips about an inch higher and closer to you.

Check out this thread I started. PM me if you have many questions.
I went the Heritage route, glad I did, should have done it sooner!
To me, the Wide Glides seemed to narrow but I did like the hieght of them.
I've had a couple other Roadie Riders set on my bike and all liked them!
5'10" here with Sundowner Solo seat.
6'1" here and went with the heritage bars. perfect. about 2" higher and at least 2 " closer. mirrors were you can use them. these bars should be standard on the rg. and only 89.00 for harley bars? r u kidding me???? ride safe.......
I have Wild1s Chubby 508 bars. They were on the bike when I bought it so I can't compare them to stock but I have no complaints. I am 5'7"...of course taller with boots on.
