Default No Right Answer?

My current Harley is a 2006 Street Rod (V-Rod). Yes, it is a REAL Harley! I m going to buy a new bike, to share the garage with the V-Rod; something I can take cross country.

My new bike will be one of the following touring models -- Road King Classic, Road Glide, or Street Glide. I m 6'-4" tall. The new bike will be one that I can ride away from the dealership on in stock form, feeling comfortable enough that I could take off cross country the same day!

So, here goes! Anyone wish to share their thoughts on which bike is "right" for me? Hearing from other tall guys would be much appreciated!

Want a badass bike?
Turn your V-Rod into a "Road Rod"
That's a V-Rod with Road Glide parts.
Wicked badass!

The biggest question you need to answer is do you want a fairing? If so then SG or RG are your bike. If not then RK is your bike. Then comes the really hard choice- batwing or shark nose? You'll get a hundred opinions on here each way.

The good news is that there is no wrong choice. Buy what you like.

As for your height the biggest complaint I hear is the 4" stock windshield on the SG. This can be easily remedied with a taller shield.

Before you lay down the $$$$ Ride them all and pick the one most suited for you...
I ride a '01 RKC and '07 RG.. I'm also 6'4" and for touring I don't think you can beat the RG I like the way it handles, the fairing being pushed forward and the Tunes make the day long ride just a bit more enjoyable...

Do the split a day rental thing at your local HD. Take a day and rent two bikes for a half day each. Recommend one with, and one without fairing. Or frame mounted fairing RG, and fork mounted fairing, SG. Ride each for 3-4 hours, back to back and when you're done, you'll know which fits, suits, and looks best to YOU. Many dealers will credit your rental fees toward a new purchase so it might not even cost you anything to do this. Good Luck and let us know....

At 5'10" the SG is almost a perfect fit for me, I sat on an RG and I felt a bit to stretched out. My guess would be the RG is laid out a bit better for a tall guy, whereas stock the SG is beeter for a short guy. But the 4" windshield is useless even for someone my size, but easy to replace.
