Default American Wire Wheels

I am looking at the 60-spoke American Wire Wheels. Like the idea of tubeless spokes, but was wondering how do the make them tubeless? Are they reliable? anyone gotem?

I think they would go good with whites.

Thanks

I have tubeless spoked wheels on my custom. 2 years didnt add air to the tires. only went down 7 psi! they coat the spoke nipples with some sort of silicone/rubber/cauking, the center of the rim is filled with it. dont really know what it is, but I am really happy with the results.

How much of a PITA are they to keep clean? I had chrome 5 spokes on my last ride and I found I was wiping them down at least every other week...I can't imagine the work to clean spokes

They do hold air great, look good and a pain to clean.;-) Mine are 80 spoke though so their a little harder to clean. The spokes arent hard to clean its the rim between the spokes. Not that big of a deal though I guess. It looks like they put a rubber liner over the spokes and then silicone it?? Bottom line is they work!

I had a pair of 80 spoke AWW's on my old RKC. They were tubeless as well. Slacker is correct in his description of how they are sealed. It is a vulcanized rubber that is poured over the center of the rim which covers the spoke nipples. I never had a spoke loosen up on me, but I imagine if they did it could break the rubber seal as you re-tighten. I have a set of 60 spoke DNA spoke wheels that are tubeless on my current bike. They are also great wheels.
