Default passenger seat height

anybody shave the height of the rear (passenger) seat on an electra glide classic. the wife sits a little to high and she gets a lot of wind. it actually hurts her ears. so i was wondering if anybody has shaved (lowered) the rear portion of the seat. i was thinking of taking the staples out and using an electric turkey cutting knife and shave about 3/4" off and then restaple it back.

Buy some earplugs. hehehe. Have her sqaut down and see if it helps . That will get you the 3/4 drop with out spending time or money first. Next ,,buy a CEE BAILY'S superstep wind shield. That will raise the wind flow and stop most all the backwash you get from the stock shield. Read there info closely because unlike klock these guy build there shields and have many choises and color and do work for half the price. The wings that go on the bottom sides of the fairing help to and the shield that bolts to the underside of your lower tree helps with some up draft that can add to the air. Look in to ear plugs, cheap or custom fit, they do work and can be make to work with stereo and intercom.

I'd bet if you put your stock 12" windshield back on, you wouldn't have any problem. I know that wasn't the question. I would contact Mean City Cycles to see if they have ever cut away any of the passenger's seat.

unfortunalty i bought the bike used and it came with i smoked 6" i think shield on it.
i also got a hold of mean city cycles and they seem a little apprehensive about shaving the rear seat.

You could accomplish the drop by going with an aftermarket seat like the Mustang. My wife is 5'3" and she doesn't care for the lower seat because the back rest now is higher on her back and is uncomfortable for her. If your wife is taller she might like it.
