Got a carbed TC 88 with K&N air filter, Rush Slip-ons, HQ-0034 cams.
About a month ago I started getting a cough out the air cleaner at speeds anywhere between 35-55. It only happens when cruising with virtually no load...never on acceleration or deceleration.
Does not matter what gear.
Does not happen often, maybe every 40-50 miles. When it does happen, it might do it once, or twice over a minute or so.
It sounds like a cough you get when the bike is cold and the choke should still be on...but this is happening when it is fully warmed up.
It just started one day...no changes had been made immediately prior to this starting.
I was thinking it was some bad gas, but I have run at least 15 tanks through it since it started...and have run it way down several times before filling up again.
Is there anything it could be besides bad fuel?
If it is bad fuel, does anyone know of a good additive, or should I drain the tank?
Sounds like its lean, did the weather cool off and it start sneezing?
Yeah it sound just like it is lean, but it only does it every now and then...I can cruise dozens of miles and it won't do it...then it will just once or twice, then not do it again.
xxxflhrci intake leak
I suppose it could be an intake leak that is just starting, and only leaks sporadically, and just for a second or so, now and then.
