Central Missouri here. 71 degrees & clear today. The oak trees looked like some of them were on fire. Brilliant orange & red. A perfect ride.

We had about 6 inches of snow this week but it's all melted now. I'll be back on the road once the sand and salt gets blown away.

Nice days here, low 80's, nights get down to the low 40's for the most part. I started one ride from Roswell, NM the other morning at close to freezing, and I was shedding clothing within a couple of hours. Getting ready to dinner and ride afterward until time for the Texas Tech/Texas game.

20 cms of snow here 4 days ago. Gone now. Rode 100kms to day at +3 celcius and 300 kms yesterday at +12 celcius. Will probably put my bike up around the end of November and hope for an early mid March start to next season.
I love these threads. I can just picture all of you riders all over North America with the different temperatures and different riding conditions just all doing the same thing, just gettin it done!

My only rule is, no riding when the temp dips below freezing. Black ice is too much of a hazard. I know a guy who crashed when he skidded out on a patch of ice left by a pick up truck. The sun melted some of the snow in the bed and it squirted out the back of the truck when it accelerated. Of course the road and the air temperature was cold enough to freeze it instantly. So here comes my friend on his RK, sunny day about 26 degrees, hits the patch which was not there a half hour earlier.
Besides all that, any lower than 30 degrees is just plain painful anyway. I will not do electric gear. If I have to resort to that, it just ain't motorcycling anymore to me.

Four of us are heading to the Rock Point Rally in Puerto Penasco, Mexico next Wed. Probably be about 34 degrees when we leave Reno, NV. About 80 on our way through Las Vegas and the further south we go the warmer it gets. We went last year and it's a fun rally with great, cheap seafood! Ride safe.
