Two Up Heated Gear???? Help Please
How do you run heated gear for both rider and passenger? I have the new HD gear for me; but I rode today and my wife came along... it was cold and there was no way I could wear it and have her freeze, so we were both cold.
I would have given her mine, but I'm an XXL and she is a S or XS... at any rate any idea how to run passenger and rider heated gear. Jackets, pants, and gloves for both.

ya gotta get two controllers. oner for you and one for her. you will likely need the two element (two adjustment *****) controllers which allows you to control the heat sepately to the gloves and the other to maybe the vest/pants, or a combination of.
I just recently bought heated gear for my gf and I. I connected both power harnesses to the battery and ran mine up by the seat horn and hers up through the riders backrest slot in the seat. It works well with the toggle switches. I haven't bought controllers yet but probably will at some point.
I just bought a splitter yesterday for the gf to control the jacket and gloves separately. The splitter contained the following notice:
"ATTENTION: The splitter is not meant to be used to power 2 separate riders' heating clothing. Never use it to power 2 separate thermostats, one will have reversed polarity,"
Aside from that, the heated gear comes with the harness so why make it difficult. Hook up a harness for each of you and enjoy the warm ride.

Yep, that's how I've been thinking about it - I bought the Gerbing's gloves and jacket liner last week and now it looks like I will need to buy another set for my riding partner. I plan to connect the second set to the battery just like the first set and run the connector up through the driver's backrest slot. My dealer told me that the HD electrical system has enough power to drive both sets at the same time without any problem.

Gerbing heated gear is definitely the way to go. Gear is guaranteed for life. H-D will not match that. Synergy will not match that. Gerbing makes heated gear for all powersports plus the military. I have used Gerbings heated Classic gloves for 2 years with the single control module that hooks to my chaps left hand pocket. On Saturday, November 1/08 I bought the Gordon Gerging Signature Series liner (limited edition) and G3 gloves with dual control module for my wife. My connection is at the top of my seat where seat meets the tank. My wifes connection will be thru the opening between seats. We use a stock Mustang Seat.
My experience is Gerbing ladies sizes are on the slightly large size. Both my wife and duaghter wear XXS.
I ride every day in the Pacific Northwest, rain or shine. Winter temperatures can be in the low30s to lower 40s. Some mornings at 5:30am I could not go 4 miles without these gloves.
Gerbing has socks but they are phasing out this product. My wife could feel the wires on her instep in her boots.

FWIW - I have heard the Gerbing makes the HD heated gear. I looked at the HD gear for this year and I was disappointed in the design changes. They left off the knitted cuffs on the sleeves (not sure how they expect the wind to stay out now) and the sizing was a little smaller (at least for me). I probably would have bought direct from Gerbing except that my dealer had some left-over liners on sale and one was just my size. I found some old stock at Chicago Harley and ordered the gf's liner from them.
