Thanks for the suggestions. I wondered if I could use the Wide Glide bars without changing cables. I had a '94 Wideglide and loved the way they fit me. I think that was the most comfortable I have ever been. I have a buddy who has an extra set of Heritage bars also that I may try out this weekend.

I'm thinking about trying the wide Glide handle bars. I have a short reach & was reading this post. Can someone give me the part number for the Wide Glide Bars?

Wild1 Chubbies W0508. Traditional RK look, 1-1/8" fat bars, chromed, bored for internal wiring. They come back about 2-1/2" more and changes your wrist position to a more natural one. I was getting neck pain and my right arm kept going numb with the OEM bars. No problems now, and I sit more upright, instead of being humped over the bars.

Matt which bars you didn't mention any - LOL... The HD bars will save you a boat load of $$$ as well...

I didn't like my stock handlebars on my Road King, so I had a set of Heritage Classic bars installed; they're more comfortable on the open road, but I seem to have given up a certain amount of control on in town riding (like cutting tight corners) or maybe I'm just not use to them yet. The Heritage bars also set higher, so a rider puts more pressure/leverage against them handeling the bike; mine came loose a little while after installation. I've looked at Wild One's, (a great handlebar) but feel they might have to much pull back or set to far apart for me. Was wondering if anyone out there has a set of Flanders Road King handlebars they could comment on; the bars come in four different sizes, most with 13" of pull back andhave 9" and 11" centers.

We all have to remember - being short is one thing - short arms are something else - I am 5'6" and I also have short arms. I have seen other short guys and the arms are just a little longer - makes for a very big difference - also, the seat you are in makes a huge difference on how you sit and yes/no on back support - I have ridden bothe EG and RG now - 575 Wild'1s combined with a custom Corbin did the trick for me on the EG on the RG, same Corbin and the Wild1 513 (pretty much a chubby copy of the WG bars) and the Wild'1 517 both work great... 517 have a little more pull back - keep in mind, the more pullback / the more {turned in (wheel barrow) } the grips will be - some riders can not get used to that feel - others love it... I road my RG from Oct-Jan with the 513's on it then went to the 517 in Jan - I really like thepull back - however, the grip "feel" is just now starting to feel natural - for me it has taken time... I own both Wild1's - so it is no big deal - just takes time to swap out - I have done bar swaps on the EG and RG enought that all it is - is a morning or afternoon job....

For us short riders - I believe its a combo of right bars and right seat = makes the difference = also keep in mind - stock brake line is rigid and follows stock bars - you may have to rebend this - for me - I tossed it and got a brake line that looked nice... just more $$$ - but what is a HD project that doesn't deal in $$$$,,, lol
