Does anyone have red gauge lights like a CVO Ultra? I would like to make the gauges match the radio at night. I used the search but did not find anything.
What they use to get the color is a colored rubber over the bulb to give it the effect. I had to change a bulb in my Roadglide fairing awhile back and saw how they give it a orange glow
I painted the bulbs with red paint. The speedo, tach & oil temp are LEDs so can't change them. Anyone have any idea how to change the LED color let us know.
There is a good thread on the gauges and lights somewhere here. In reading the thread I went with the WLED-xHP5 Miniature Wedge Base bulbs at Superbrightled LEDs. I used red in my Ultra and the wife wanted green in her Street Glide.
Here is a not so good pic of it.. (camera on phone)
I have since lit up the speaker pods.
The wife's with Green. Originally the gauge lights were on the bright side, with all 5 LED's on one bulb lit up, so I blocked out the LED on top of the bulb with some black silicone. This whole thing cost me about 30 bucks.
The other thread showed how to do the speedo and tach. That will be my winter project. I am in search of how or info how to do the radio..
Last night was the first night ride with the speaker pods and gauges lit up on my bike. Looked really cool. My Ultra has stock black gauges, the wife's Glide is stock white gauges.
