so true somone hit my mom years back ( tunnel vision) at an intrsection. she is ok now.
but also never forget dont pass on the right.
Glad you made it thru that one!!!
I commute daily year-around, unless the roads are slick. I appreciate reminders like this as I tend to get a little careless in watching for things like this. I really am becoming unreasonable when I see folks talking on cells without headpieces . . wonder why that is. . .
I've been hit a few times from taking my eyes of the car after making eye contact with the drives. They see you but still pull out in front claiming they never seen you coming. I drive a road train and some drives dont see these 64 1/2 ton mammoths.
Defensive Driving is what I apply once on Motorcycle cuz there's too many lunatics out there. Anyone driving eratically or talking on the phone whether it's cell or head piece...I always give out "THE BIRD" and tell them to get off the road !.
Basically no chance of winning in an accident unless you're darn lucky to get away from serious injuries.
It is amazing how many people blow through red lights well after the light has changed. Gotta look both ways, having the right of way doesn't do much good if you get t-boned by a cager.
I ride like EVERY car out there is going to try to hit me. I've noticed that my defensive driving efforts on my motorcycle also carries over when I drive my car.
I turned into a parking at a restrant the other day and was going to make a right turn down one of the parking rows when a old man probley about 75 [I am 68] made a left
turn right in front of me I had to hit the brakes hard. He pulled into the spot that I
would have had. I stoped and told him that he had just took my right of way.
He said Motorcycles do not have much of a right of way. Can you beat that
Buy the way California law about hands free phone has not had any effect at all
every young female is one the phone
Intersections are the worse. I also notice that I seem to carry over some riding habits to the car as well. I would like to think it makes me a better driver. My wife has also asked several times " How did you know they were going to cut you off?"
