I need to diagnose a front end wobble or wiggle on my 04 Road King Custom. Last year I had a slight wobble and it seemed like the tires followed the road snakes and road creases more and more, and I figured it was the tires. I changed both tires, and the wobble is still there. It does it at all speeds, but never has been a major concern. I thought I was just being too picky and learned to deal with it. But, I have a removeable batwing fairing that I made a few years back, and today since it was rainy and cold, I tossed on the fairing and off I went. I noticed the wobble BIG time with the fairing at highway speeds. The fairing definately amplified the wobble, and I need to figure out what this could be. Would wheel bearings do this?
Neck bearings may need adjusting. The manual says to check the adjustment and lube every 5,000 miles and to dis-assemble and inspect at 50,000 miles.
I had the same problem and had mine adjusted at 35,000 miles, mechanic said it had never been done before. It fixed the problem on my '04 FLHRSi.
I think the fork are flexing in the tripple trees the top yoke have bolts through the top tree and the bottom only has one pinch bolt on each side. The bottom tree is very thin compared to most modern bikes. Sit on your bike and shake your bars and feel the forks wobble.

I put it up on a lift and checked the swing-by, which was two full swings and a partial. According to the manual this was correct. I checked the tires, rims, and forks, and everything checked out. Could there still be a problem with the neck bearings? Plus, the dealer did the first few services, and now Im hearing that they never grease the necks half the time. Im going to change the zerk fitting and grease it myself. Could this actually cause a wobble?
Well, I changed the zerk over to a 45 degree angle fitting and ended up pumping over a half a tube of hi temp grease into the neck. Took her out and it definately cleared up the wobble. The steering is definately better and a bit smoother.
