What an HONOR!!!
I just got home from a ride, but this one was different from any other. I had the honor to ride in the local Veterans Day Parade with the members of the Idaho Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association and the Boise Valley POW/MIA Awareness group. Though I am not easily humbled, this experience humbled me more than anything I've ever done. I was truly honored to ride with these warrior heroes.
A friend from work (Thank you, PSC!!!) invited me to join the group, even though I never served in our nation's military. I can't tell you how honored I was to be welcomed into this group. There was a great turnout from the area, and patriotism is alive in well in Boise!
Just wanted to thank all of these heroes for letting me join them, and to thank all of you who served our great country. You are all what makes America great. Because of you, we are free... free to ride, free to vote, free to voice our opinions. God bless you all, and...
God Bless America!

Right on, thanks for expressing your gratitude. I just got back from a ride to a Vet's home in Yountville, CA. I'm not sure how many bikes there were but the parade for the vets was awesome.
Thanks to the Iron Warriors MC out of Sacramento for making this happen.

Rode in ours today also -- Shreveport La. great ride and all procedes stay at the Overton Brooks VA Hospital. Had folks lining the parkway for the parade -- very nice.
Rode the old shovel, out of approx. 600 bikes I think it was the only one -- anybody still ride the old ones?

I know, the feeling is awesome! I ride with a 100 bike group from Milwaukee, WI to Washington, DC for Rolling Thunder (Memorial Day Weekend). I have a CB on the RG and it’s great to listen to the car/truck radio traffic.
Wow.........I got goosebumps reading that Chasenfish! Funny how it takes something like that for us sometimes, to really appreciate what we have here in America. Thanks for the post!

I know there are a lot of vets on here besides myself. (OIF 06-08) I actually want to thank all of those people who have thanked us. I can tell you that every other guy in my unit truly appreciates the "thank yous" that we get from the civilians and the older vets. When we came back from Iraq in Aug of 07, there were 8 bikes from the Patriot Guard waiting for us at the airfield. They handed us quarter pounders and cokes as we filed off the plane. The women they had with them helped with tear filled eyes. They escorted us from the airfield to the barracks, helping the police hold traffic and everything. I belong to a few groups of "enthusiasts" but I can tell you, none I know of are more patriotic than bikers!!!
As a member of the Patriot Guard Riders, I consider it an honor to ride with any and all vets. Rolling Thunder in DC is always moving. Did it for 11 years while living in No. VA, and it's always humbling to see the bikes, the vets, the spectators, and the Viet Nam Wall.
