I have been thinking about a Road Glide for a few months and yesterday I went to my local dealer (where I bought my 06 RK custom) and we chatted about the 09's and out of the blue the sales manager says $21,664 otd for a 09 vivid black RG with security. Before I could say anything he also said they would give me $14,500 for my RK Custom (stock with slip ons). Now I'm thinking hard about it. I want to do few things to my RK like motor work, 18,21 wheels, Bagger brace, True duel's and I would have about the same money after all said and done but Damn the 09 Road Glides look good!!!!
Just reading all the posts, the Rag reviews, and all the tests, I don't think you could go wrong. But don't forget, all those things you mentioned doing to your RK Custom, will now probably end up being done to the new scoot as well. Except maybe the stabilizer.. So, enjoy it. Everyone seems happy with em.....
Because you will try hard for the rest of your life to top it and will struggle to do so. Later in life you will feel like a failure, except for that one moment when you made the best decision of your life....
Lower the out the door price and you'll lower the trade in price that they are "giving" him. You don't think they are really giving him 14,500?

Price seems high. You can get a Vivid black with ABS for 20k flat up here. You're aout 1200 too high for one with just security..
To compare apples to apples, is this the "out the door price" which is what you'd write the check for? To me out the door prices are confusing on a forum like this, but that is the way UPSGUY got the $21,664 number. I assume his OTD price includes his states tax on the bike, or maybe only the difference between his trade and the new RG along with whatever "bend over" charges a dealer may add after the price is agreed on. Also $14,500 seems pretty fair for the 06 RK.
