Default Installing Cruise Control on a 2008 SG

I am going to be installing Cruise Control PN:77196-08 on my 2008 Street Glide and have a few questions.

Is this the only part (PN:77196-08) needed to complete the install?
Is the CC kit (switch housing) available in chrome?

I have the Khrome Werks 300515 +2 Wide Sweeper bars installed with internal wiring which I did myself, and will be running the new wires the same. From what I can see, all the control wires are located on the right side of the handlebars. None on the left side. I have the Service Manual but it does not look very helpful.

1. It looks like I will have to remove the right control wires from the Molex connector under the fairing and pull them out the top of the bars.

2. Then remove the wires from the new connector that comes with the CC kit.

3. Run the wires through the bars and reconnect them the same way they came apart.

Looking at the picture it looks like there is only one connector involved an if I was not running internal wires, it would be Plug n Play. Is this true?

And as I have read, I will have to take the bike to the dealer to have the CC enabled within the ECM.

If anyone has any tips on the CC install, please jump in.

You are correct about having to have the Cruise activated at the dealer. My dealer did it for free; yours may charge $15-$30. As for the other info, it has been a few months since my install and I don't remember. Sorry I couldn't have helped more.

The kit is on order and I'll be installing it after it arrives.

In the instruction it will warn you to make sure the wires for each control are tucked good in to the slot under the handle bar at the control housing or you'll pinch the wires and cause a short. The instructions was died on, and it happen, it took me and half hour to figure out which control wire was pinched so I can repair it.

When I installed the new handlebars I ran the wire internally and used a section of rap protecting the wires. The used the left over and slid it up the wire bundle from the bottom of the handlebars. I'm planing on doing the same. Thanks for the tip.

Well the Cruise Control Kit arrived and it's installed. If it wasn't for running the right control wire internally, it would have been a simple plug and play job.

While installing the CC switch into the fairing cap I noticed that the ACC switch wires running through the squeeze clip were showing some ware. I tried removing the ACC wires from the AMP Multilock connector so I could slide a protector over them but could not get out of the connector. So I sliced the protector rapped the the ACC and CC switch wire and held it with tie raps.

Yesterday I took the bike to the dealer and had the CC activated. All is working as designed. This will be a treat for the ride to the Keys on Monday.

Thanks to all that helped out.
