I was looking at a Tourmaster jacket today that is a waterproof/armour/mesh/insulated liner in a light gray version today. Looked like it would replace everything I have to carry and be much more cooler than anything I have now.

There was also a Scorpion verison there that looked like it would be a good jacket with the same features. It was solid black though and heat looks like it could be a problem because of the color. Maybe not. .?

So, I'm between the two of these. I would not have to pack extra raingear with these jackets and still have a jacket for hot days. We tour long distances in the summer and the temperature of our rides varies quite a bit.

Thanks all!!

I have tha First Gear mesh tech jacket , It works great here in california with temps above 80 to 105. The jacket has armor and a snap out liner.

I've had a silver FirstGear mesh for quite a while and it has been a good jacket. I would definitely go with the lighter color for heat. Tourmaster makes nice stuff too. Olympia also has some nice jackets. These guys usually have some good prices. www.newenough.com
I rode from NC to NM, UT, & CO last July wearing my FG mesh. I rode in temps ranging from low 40's to over 100. I still carry my FG rainsuit with me because the rain liner in the mesh jacket doesn't work very well. My mesh jacket is cut too low around the neck and the rain runs down my back.
I also used a sixsixone core cooler under my mesh jacket in the hot temps. They work pretty good in the low humidity of the southwest, but in areas with high humidity they don't make much difference.

Cool

I have a toutmaster Draft jacket with waterproof liner and a thermo liner that can be used together or seperate.

Make sure what ever you get has adjustable straps on the sleeves so you can tighten when the liners are removed. I had a Power Trip that did not and flapped alot in the wind.
