Passenger mounting
First she would grab her right jeans leg and lift it over the seat = this resulted in her calf getting bruised. She's 5'10" so this was an option.
Then we tried me standing moved up on the tank for more room. This worked fine = she'd throw her leg over then hitch back into her seat.
Then... got the short plastic antennae so she could use her board and mount like described above. That works best.
Shame that dude made fun of her.
I will back my RK out of the driveway and turn the bike so it is facing out into the street. I then will start the bike and put it in neutral with kick stand DOWN. My g/f gets on from the left side-she always ask if I am ready and then I give her the go ahead. Once she is on I lift up the stand and we are off. When we get to our destination I always stop right before I park and let her off on left side with kickstand still in up position. I then back into the space solo and turn off RK.
its YOUR BIKE and YOU ARE PAYING FOR IT........tell her to get on or off it however she wants....the whole biking world can kiss your ****..all this crap about doing things a certain way is pure horsesh*t
Well I have seen two methods- 1- throwing a leg over and 2- using the left passenger peg as a step and stepping up and down on the seat.
My wife uses method #2 when mounting. She mounts it just like she would a Horse saddle. Get one foot on floorboard stand up and throw other leg over and sit down.
Work on communication with your wife as well. Let her know it is vital that she give you a tap on the shoulder before she repositions herself on the backseat while your stopped or moving. You don't need any unexpected weight shifting on the rearend.
Our procedure goes as follows:
I mount, kickstand up, roll out of garage and get positioned for takeoff
, then when in neutral with engine running and all set ready to go I give her the ok and she places one hand on my shoulder and the other hand on the backreast, left foot on peg and steps up and over to other peg and then sits down. I give her a few seconds to squirm around and find her spot and when I feel her stop moving I ask if she is ready and if so, we go.When we arrive at destination I stop BEFORE parking and let her off, then I park the bike Solo. It's just easier to manuver the bike around solo and Safer for her.
All I can say is communication is crucial between the two of you. When your on the bike your a team so communicate like one.
My wife and I have gotten to where we can communicate with just taps on the shoulder or for me I tap her knee.
be safe

Your procedure is exactly like ours!
Short story about a$$---e giving you a hard time. We rode with a new group and the ride leader gave us a hard time about my wives way of getting on the bike. I bit my toung and said nothing. Turns out a week later ride leader dropped his bike at a stop. People took pictures of him on the ground posted them on chapter web site sent then to everyone! What goes around comes around!

Oh by the way, you should chew the HOG Director A$$ out one on one. He has failed about ever rule HOG has on leadership by his actions. He should of made a suggestion or even shown your wife how to get on a bike. Get even vote someone else in next year. Have fun and ride.
When I set up to have my wife get on the bike, I have my calves back against the passenger boards and I lean forward slightly with my elbows bent. I saw another couple do that, so I decided to give it a whirl. For us, that makes the bike solid and my wife is more comfortable getting on. As soon as I feel her settle, I move my legs forward a little and she re-adjusts on the fllorboards.
Also, when your passenger steps up on the floorboard or peg, it helps if they step up at an angle across the bike (if that makes sense) instead of straight up and down. It helps move their weight over the bike instead of just on one side.
