Crank position sensor is that little bugger behind the oil filter with the wire attached to it, you know the one that you have to be careful not to fudge up when removing the oil filter!

If your crank sensor failed have Harley replace it.
It should be considered part of your emission control system.
A lot of these parts are warrantied (by Federal Law) for upto 100,000 miles.

I remember when the injector pump on my old Ford Diesel P/U went out it was a part covered by that law. Saved me $800.00 in parts and labor.

I went out to the bike and found it. Ive seen it there before but did not know what it was. Im taking off a terminal velocity fuel tuner, and it has a connection between the factory crank sensor connection. I did not put the tv2 on so i was not sure. Im putting on a pc3. Thanks for your help

Well, this question has been settled already, but I'd like to state that the owner's manual (at least for my '07) has the emissions warranty at 30k kilometers or some few years, whichever come first. I blew that warranty at just long of the first year.

In California you get 3 years and or 50,000 miles.
It includes all parts considered to be emissions system related.
I guess that's what the extra $245 you pay for a HD in Ca. gets you.
