How many of you traded from a 08 to a 09 Touring Bike? Are you Happy with it? Did you trade for the same model or did you trade up to a different model?
Traded an 08 Road King Classic 3142 miles for an 09 Ultra Classic. Both with ABS, cruise, security. I love the move!! Ultra 699 miles in 2 1/2 weeks. Road King was nice but I love the ability to haul more and listen to tunes and CB on the Ultra. Ride seems better too!
I traded from an 08 Roadking to an 09 Streetglide. I liked the RK except for the stock windshield so, I bought an aftermarket fairing.
I wasn't happy with the looks of the bare inner side of the fairing.
I even looked seriously at the SG when I was buying the RK but, figured I might want to take the windshield off from time to time.
Ah well, I always find a way to spend money for nothing.
I have heard so many good things about the 09's that if I had left my bike stock I would probably trade. But I have spent too much in making it my personal bike now and I have zero complaints with it so I will be content with my 08.
They are all nice and I really hope to buy a new bike in about two years and KEEP the 08 SG.
yesterday i traded my 02 FLHRSEI in for a 09 FLHTC ABS, cruise, and alarm it will take a month or so to get it so i can't speak to much about the 09 except to say better engine, transmission, brakes, frame, suspension, wheels, tires, ABS, exhaust, etc.. read the latest issue of Motorcycle Consumer News december 08 pg. 12 they tested the Road Glide and had nothing but praise for the new changes. i can't wait.

Traded from an '08 Softail Deluxe for an '09 RKC. Even though the Softail fit me better (inseam challenged) I have not looked back at all.
On the RKC, the handling is better, ABS are nice (a must-have for me), but the looks is ultimately what sold me. No regrets (except for the obvious financial hit), but then the looks makes up for it.
I had had a 08 RK for about 6 weeks but experienced the dreaded filter housing failure. I was on a trip, far from anything when it happened and when I did get towed ($O,uch), TWO dealers did not have parts to replace the housing.
I was so turned off by the bike I traded it in on a 09 RK.
