First trip after doing fuelpak....any suggestions?

This morning I left the house in Memphis and headed to Knoxville to pickup a trailer at Bushtec. About two months ago I put a V&H fuelpak on my '08 Roadglide to complete the stage 1 setup. I have a big sucker with factory cover and vance and hines basic slash cut slip ons. I've ridden it around town and noticed that I was filling it up more but haven't checked the mileage. Today I went a little over 380 miles and had to fill up 3 times! Now don't get me wrong I don't really care much about fuel mileage on the bike but I think only being able to go 120 miles between fillups is a little out of hand. Some of the trips that I will be going on could be a problem finding fuel with needing to stop in those increments. Do you guys think there is some programming that could be changed with the fuelpak to make it a little more fuel efficient? I just entered what the v&h website told me to put in for the values. Any advice is appreciated because tomorrow I will be heading home towing a new trailer and I'm sure the mileage will go down even more. Thanks.
with an 08 with the 6 gal tank, if you are only getting 120 miles per tank, then something is definitely amiss. now, if you are just filling up because the light comes on and it is only taking 2.5 - 3 gals, then the only problem you have is watching the light!
need more info, how many gals is it taking you to fillup when you stop for gas?
v&h customer service can give you some assistance in setting your values properly (so i've been told, i have a pciii) if you really have a mpg issue, not a fuel light issue, try them.
It is taking right around 4.5 to 5 gallons give or take. I stopped at that mileage because I was in unfamiliar territory and didn't want to run out of gas. The light wasn't on yet but it wasn't far from it. I'll try to call V and H when I get home and see what they say. I know the mileage will be worse tomorrow because when I left with the trailer I could tell that it took more effort for the bike to go the same speed with it behind.(6th gear is useless with it behind until 70+).

the fuelpac increases the fuel to "cool" the motor down. problem solved
I understand the concept but going from roughly 50mpg to 25mpg is extreme imo. If this is as good as it will get I'll have to look at a pc3 or sert because I don't want to have to worry about gas every 100-120 miles while touring.
its not quite as bad as you're thinking, i've not seen anyone who really gets 50 mpg. but 25 mpg is definitely too low. if you're using that much fuel to 'cool down your engine', then you're gonna need an oil change every 500 miles from washing the oil off the cylinder walls.
i'm sure that v&h will be able to hook you up. if not, there's gotta be someone on here who has the same (or very similar) set up that can give you their settings. i've heard very little negative in reference to the fuel pack, so that should give you some confidence.
Definitely check your settings.

Yeah, and what I'd guess is not right might could cause a Check Engine Light event: a disconnected/faulty O2 (or other) sensor. This could put the EFI into "limp home" mode, which would be very safely rich. Do you get any CELs?
I'd say with my experience with likely the same "stage 1" parts as mentioned above that I'd easily get mid-40s on that trip after using a TTS tuner on the bike to replace the PC-III. My PC-III was not tuned to my bike on a dyno, but I know that area of the country and am sure I'd gotten about 37/38 mpg with it. The bike feels just a little softer right off idle, or fairly part-throttle, than it did before, but in all other respects it flat out runs way better to boot.
I just installed all of the phase I stuff myself. While I did notice a drop in gas mileage, It wasn't anything that I couldn't chalk up to a fatter fuel mix and excessive operator use of the right hand-grip .
I know it's a pain in the *** (and please don't be angry that I'm making the suggestion), but it might help your piece of mind to go to the Fuelpak web site, reenter your equipment configuration (pipes, AC, etc) and print the resulting settings for your bike.
