My expereince with Corbin was terrible. I'd never buy again. Rather sit on a rock. That would be easier to get used to. Nice looking, some guys love them-- but any kind of customer service is a nightmare. Tried to buy a fairing from them. Flat out lied to me for 6 weeks. Put a touring seat my former bike and it was so hard that it made my teeth buzz! So many other great companies out there with excellent reports, one supports the forum...
I really like my corbin classic solo on my 06 SG. Glad to have that vinyl barcolounger, I mean sundowner, off the bike! I rode over to Ormond Beach and worked with Sergio who could not have been more helpful. I tried several different seats on my bike and rode around the local area before deciding on the classic solo. They usually give 10% off at Bike events in Daytona and also hook up active duty military with 10% off.
They install easily. I have owned two and both have been superb. I wouldn't have anything else.
If it were me I would have my bike there for the fitment. Travel to an event where Corbin is present-or better yet take a road trip to Ormond Beach or Cali. They are expensive and you don't want surprises. Just my .02. When I bought my most recent seat I traveled from NC to Fla just to try a few seats, etc. It's worth it, and besides that's why you have a touring bike anyway!
personally I would never order anything from Corbin. I may explain, I've had very good luck with their seats, made of very good materials, and fit the bike perfectly. But...... if you ever have a problem you can absolutely forget about receiving any kind of service from this stupid company! If you happen to order a seat that doesn't fit, or some sort of defect, or the order is missing an item upon delivery, you can absolutely forget about Corbin helping you out! I tell everybody I know after my past experiences, to absolutely stay away from the crap! Let the buyer beware you can spend an awful lot of money with them and get absolutely screwed!
I have the classic solo too, I'm very happy with the seat and the fitment of the seat...BUT, I hated the service from corbin, when I ordered the seat last year it was to take 2-3 weeks, 25 phone calls and 9 weeks later it finally came in...
